Checklist: Falls on Stairs



With many Australians now working from home, improper workstation setups and prolonged sitting are leading to discomfort and potential musculoskeletal disorders. It’s crucial to address early signs of pain by adjusting your workstation ergonomically, regularly changing positions, and incorporating movement to prevent serious injury.
Warehouse and office shelving can pose safety risks such as reaching or bending injuries, climbing accidents, falling objects, and unstable structures.
As ergonomists and safety specialists, we are frequently asked if we can provide ‘how to lift’ training to minimise the risks of injury from manual tasks within the workplace. Although injuries from these tasks are common, we believe ‘how to lift’ training, by itself, is not the right approach to managing hazardous manual tasks. So how do we recommend managers keep their staff safe from such injuries?
