How our training works
After inspecting your workplace and consulting with the people who work there, we prepare a hands-on sess
ion built around your needs, with an eye out for opportunities for improvement.
Who is it for?
ANYONE interested in making their workplace safe, compliant and productive. Especially people who get tired or sore at work.
What happens?
WE USUALLY invite people coming to one of our training programs to complete a short survey questionnaire in advance, so we can come along well informed about your situation. This survey can be done privately by email or by paper. It enquires about your work, about individual preferences, and about any problems (or opportunities for improvement) you may wish to raise. We also arrange a walk-through of your workplace before any training takes place.
Why do we walk through?
it clarifies current issues which triggered the request for training, and those raised in the online questionnaire; it defines the scope of what can be achieved by training; it enables us to identify obvious hazards and general housekeeping standards; it helps us observe work habit and postural preferences; it identifies any glaring need for equipment e.g. new chairs, document holders, footrests' it identifies opportunities to make better use of what you have in terms of space and equipment; it confirms any understanding you may have regarding budget guidelines for appropriate levels of follow up, including equipment and consultant time, the amount of detail needed in any written report (very important so that expectations raised in training are appropriate and can be met within a reasonable time frame); it sorts out who you might contact in-house for equipment such as footrests, document holder, antiglare screen, and monitor stands and the processes involved for request, approval and supply; it helps us select workstations to use for demonstration, to ensure that typical and relevant issues are addressed; it optimises the training venue set-up and helps tailor our training to your specific needs; and it enables us to advise on alternate strategies (other than training) to address problems. We give on-the-spot advice wherever possible.
What is the aim of the training?
To provide participants with skills and knowledge to review their own workstations, applying ergonomic principles in a way that promotes good working posture and which aids in the prevention of workstation-related injuries.
Why choose us?
OUR advice is completely independent; our consultants are highly qualified in ergonomics; we have been advising for 25 years; we provide no-cost, guaranteed follow-up and support; we're fully equipped with the latest information and resources; we consult continuously to many successful companies and enterprises; our clients become our trusted associates; and (modestly!) our client base and project spread is the envy of our competitors .... The difference is also our trainers... Allow us to use a cooking analogy… collectively, our trainers have decades of experience and they’re passionate about what they do - like fabulous cooks, they don’t need to refer to recipe books very often (but when they do they have great books and know just where to look). Great cooks always have a well-stocked pantry and can put together a special menu to the delight of their guests - and they make it look easy! A great cook never uses a packet cake mix. Nothing beats attending a hands-on workshop with a great cook – you see how they do it, you’re let in on a few trade secrets, you write notes in the margin of the recipe handout (and you keep the handout and refer to it in months and years to come). The proof is in the pudding, and you get to taste it! So we always make sure we know who we’re cooking for and what you’d like to eat – and we put together something special, just for you.

We can also recommend furniture, accessories (like footstools, document holders) and suppliers we know can be relied on. We keep up to date on what's in the market, and our clients often tell us about the service they get from suppliers we recommend.
